Helpful Information for Streaming Our High Holiday Services

Our High Holiday services will be available via stream on the internet again this year, and there are a few steps you can take in advance to have the best experience possible.

Check the speed of your internet connection

Video streaming needs more bandwidth than basic internet services. and we recommend you have at least 10 Megabits per second (Mbps) available. Check your internet speed on the device you will use by going online to www.fast.com. This website will instantly display your device’s internet speed. If your speed is greater than 10Mbps, our streaming holiday services should play well on your device.

Troubleshooting

Try using the laptop or tablet (iPad) in different rooms. Generally, your internet speed will be faster the closer you are to your home’s wireless router

Check to see what other devices in your home may be using a wireless connection. Are you or a family member streaming music or movies to television, Smartphone, or tablet? If so, turn off those devices and check your speed again to see if it has improved.

Call your cable provider and ask what internet speed they are providing to you. If it’s less than 10Mbps, consider increasing it for the month to view our holiday services live streaming.

Consider using a computer that is connected directly to the internet (rather than connecting with a wireless device). Open the browser and go online to www.fast.com and confirm your speed is greater than 10Mbps.

Consider connecting your iPad or tablet to your television

Connect your iPad to your television using an HDMI cable and an Apple Lighting to HDMI adapter (available from Amazon or Apple). Plug the adapter into your iPad, and plug one end of the HDMI cable into the adapter and the other end into the television’s HDMI input (HDMI 1 or HDMI 2). On your television be certain to choose proper HDMI input to view the iPad.

If you have an Android tablet, the steps are the same, though you will need an HDMI to USB adapter and cable. Select one on Amazon with the same USB type as your device. USB Type-C is the most common for newer Android devices.
